Plot summary

Juan Garcia is a boy nearing manhood in a neighborhood run by gangs. The two role models in his life sit at opposite ends. His older sister Angie is raising a child on her own and trying to establish herself in the corporate world, which is mostly white. His uncle Manny, once in a gang, left prison and now works as an actor, cast as a gang member. Juan, like most boys his age, can only think of girls. What he does not know is how hard the courts come down on gang affiliation, and what that could mean for a young man growing up where he does.
