Plot summary
Katya celebrates her birthday in Saint Petersburg by throwing people from the river Moyka into the water. She is arrested for hooliganism, steals a police boat, loses control and crashes it into a cafe on the shore. She is sentenced to two years in prison, but as the daughter of a Saint Petersburg official, Tatyana Vasilievna Novikova, she is instead sent to the United Arab Emirates. Grisha, re-educated in a staged 19th-century Russian village, meets her again on a private plane and decides to repeat the experiment without asking his father. The actors who once played his correction fear the official's anger, yet they tranquilize Katya on the road and kidnap her. She wakes in a barn with no idea what is happening.
