Plot summary
In the 1940s, Girdhari Lal is an old man with a golden heart who has reached an age at which he wants badly to be married. That wish drives him harder than anything else, and it lands him in trouble whenever he meets an attractive woman. Because he is so set on a wedding of his own, he pays no attention to what is around him. He can be at a marriage ceremony or at a funeral, and a woman he admires is enough to make him behave in a way that leaves everyone uncomfortable. His relatives are fond of him, but only his father understands him.
