Yes-R

Yes-R was born in 1986 as Yesser Roshdi from an Egyptian father and a Morrocan mother in Amsterdam. Under the influence of his famous cousin Ali B he started to rap at the age of 13, winning his first talent contest a year later. He was a member of the rap group Ongerept for two years before he went further as a solo artist. In 2003 he signed a contract with the famous dutch rapper Lange Frans and D-Men Entertainment. Lange Frans produced Yes-R's songs and the first one (`Chickiesflasher') became an underground hit. Yes-R started appearing on tracks by other rappers and became a more seen figure in the world of hip hop. In 2004 he won the Audience Award on the prestigious 'Grote Prijs van Nederland'.
