Biography

Wilson Wood was an American character actor who spent 17 years making movies, appearing in more than 100 films, most often in small parts. A native of Huron, North Dakota, he got his first screen credit in 1946, playing a minor role in Henry Koster's Two Sisters from Boston. In 1952 he took the lead in Zombies of the Stratosphere, a 12-part serial from Republic Pictures. That serial was later edited down and released in 1958 as the feature Satan's Satellites. Wood's last film role came in 1962's Jumbo, where he had a featured part alongside Doris Day, Stephen Boyd and Jimmy Durante. He died in 2004 at age 89.
