Terry Richards

Terry Richards was a British actor and stuntman who worked on more than 100 productions in film and television. He was born in South London to Welsh parents and served in the Welsh Guards; after his national service he was working as a scaffolder in 1957 when a friend from the Guards told him that extras with military training were needed. He appeared as a fighting extra with Kirk Douglas in The Vikings in 1958, and in 1960 he helped found The Stunt Register, a British list of accredited stunt performers. The Avengers cast him as a Cybernaut in 1967. He was best known as the swordsman in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), a scripted fight that was cut to a single gunshot. He also doubled for performers including Donald Sutherland, Tom Selleck and Christopher Lee, appeared in nine James Bond films, and retired after Tomorrow Never Dies (1997).
