Suzy Kendall
Biography
Suzy Kendall, born Freda Harriet Harrison in Belper, Derbyshire, is a British retired actress. She first designed fabrics for British Celanese, then worked as a photographic model before turning to acting. She began in supporting parts and later took leading female roles in several British films during the late 1960s. During the early 1970s she appeared in a number of Italian giallo thrillers. She later came back to Britain, played smaller parts in further films, and retired from screen acting in 1977. Her television credits include episodes of The Spies in 1966, Further Adventures of Lucky Jim in 1967, The Persuaders! in 1971 and Van der Valk in 1977. After a 35-year gap, she appeared in Berberian Sound Studio in 2012; some sources billed her as the mother of Gilderoy, the lead played by Toby Jones, while the end credits list her as a special guest screamer.
