Sandy Sidhu

Sandy Sidhu is a Canadian actress whose first professional role came in science-fiction television. She was born in 1992 and was raised on an island near Vancouver, Canada. Her interest in performing began at fourteen, when she played leading parts in high school musical theater productions, and she took singing lessons through her teenage years while spending after-school hours in rehearsals. An honor student, she earned a degree in cell biology and genetics from the University of British Columbia. Partway through those studies she decided acting mattered more to her than science, found an agent, and began developing her craft. She moved to Los Angeles to train in classical theater and improvisation at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Her first recurring television role was Dr. Mehta on Stargate Universe, and she followed that with an episode of the Canadian series Shattered. She has also appeared in commercials and print ads.
