Pedro Infante
Biography
Pedro Infante was a Mexican actor and singer who became the idol of Mexico through his movies, records and public appearances across Mexico and Latin America. Born in 1917, he made 59 films, 55 of them in leading roles, and recorded 366 songs between 1943 and 1956. A natural actor, he was known for his singing and an unlearnable charm, and he often played the good son, the romantic, the caring father and the macho with a heart. His films were box-office hits, and the most popular included the bittersweet poverty trilogy and comedies such as A.T.M.: ¡¡A toda máquina!! (1951). After his death in 1957, his fame continued to grow, reaching later generations of Mexicans.
