Patricia Hitchcock
Biography
Patricia Hitchcock was a British-American actress and producer, born in London in 1928 to director Alfred Hitchcock and film editor Alma Reville. She moved with her family to Los Angeles in 1939 and grew up wanting to perform. After an uncredited appearance with her mother in Sabotage, she spent the early 1940s in summer stock and on stage; her father helped her secure a Broadway role in Solitaire, and she later took the title part in Violet. She trained in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. On screen she had supporting roles in her father's Stage Fright (1950), Strangers on a Train (1951), and Psycho (1960); in Strangers on a Train she played Barbara Morton. She also acted in The Mudlark, appeared in ten episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and executive produced the documentary The Man on Lincoln's Nose. Later she edited an Alfred Hitchcock suspense anthology and co-wrote a biography of her mother.
