Miguel Rodarte

Biography

Miguel Rodarte is an actor who first worked in film on a noir short while he was still in college. Committing to acting, he learned the Strasberg method in Mexico City and then studied at a contemporary theater school led by the Polish director Ludwik Margules, drawing inspiration from Strindberg, Shakespeare and Brook. After his drama training he played Bosie, Oscar Wilde's lover, in a Mexican staging of Gross Indecency, about Wilde's trials. His turn as the historical figure El Tigre de Santa Julia brought critical praise and awards, among them an MTV Movie Award. He later led Saving Private Perez (2011) as cartel boss Julian Perez and appeared with Sharon Stone in Border Run (2012). A GQ Man of the Year Award followed, along with two stints on the jury of the International Emmy Awards, plus stage roles and television series.
