Mark Mitchell

Mark Mitchell is an Australian actor and comedian who began in entertainment with the sketch show The Eleventh Hour, a forerunner of The Comedy Company. Born in Melbourne, he taught English at a secondary school before working as an advertising copywriter. On The Comedy Company he played many characters, most famously the greengrocer Con the Fruiterer, and he also created Con's wife, Marika. He became familiar to younger viewers as the greedy real estate agent Mr. Gribble in Round the Twist, and appeared in Lift Off and The Genie From Down Under. His film work includes the supporting lead in The Munsters' Scary Little Christmas (1996) and the part of Chief Quimby in Inspector Gadget 2 (2003). He has voiced characters in Li'l Elvis Jones and the Truckstoppers, The Flamin' Thongs and the Australian release of Chicken Little, and played David Lange in the 1994 miniseries Fallout.
