Marco Beltrami

Marco Beltrami is a composer who writes music for film and television, with credits spanning horror, action, science fiction and Westerns. Born in Setauket, New York, he trained at Brown University, the Yale School of Music and the USC Thornton School of Music, where he studied with Jerry Goldsmith. After scoring the 1994 thriller Death Match, he drew wide attention with Wes Craven's Scream (1996), and he went on to score seven of Craven's films, among them the first four Scream entries. His long list of credits includes Mimic, The Faculty, Resident Evil, Blade II, Hellboy, I, Robot, Live Free or Die Hard, 3:10 to Yuma (2007), The Hurt Locker (2008), A Quiet Place (2018), Logan and Snowpiercer. He earned Academy Award nominations for 3:10 to Yuma and The Hurt Locker, a Golden Globe nomination for A Quiet Place, an Emmy Award for Free Solo (2018) and a Satellite Award for Soul Surfer (2011).
