Kristian Ayre
Biography
Kristian Ayre is a British actor who was born in Bolton and moved to Canada as a child. He began acting in the early 1990s, appearing in Andre (1994) with Keith Carradine before playing Radu 386 in the Nickelodeon science fiction series Space Cases, which ran for two seasons from 1996 to 1997. He starred in the CBS series The New Ghostwriter Mysteries and had a regular role on Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy from 1999 to 2000. His other screen work includes Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County (1998) and guest appearances on The Outer Limits, Stargate SG-1, and The Dead Zone. He has voiced roles in anime such as Elemental Gelade, Hikaru no Go, Shakugan no Shana, and Inuyasha the Movie 4: Fire on the Mystic Island (2004). He also studied theater at Simon Fraser University and has performed on stage in Vancouver.

Big break
Ayre had a few roles in TV movies, among them Bye Bye Birdie in 1995. He then played Radu 386 on the Nickelodeon series Space Cases, with co-creator Peter David helping him get the part.
Early training
Ayre studied at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre there in 2004. He also has training in acrobatics and gymnastics.
Getting ready for a role
For his role as Loran in the Stargate SG-1 episode "The Light," Ayre was required to cry but skipped the usual tricks because he can cry on cue.
Beyond film
Ayre performed in and produced "War Lover for the Vancouver International Folk Festival" in 2006, working with the Leaky Heaven Circus.
Languages
Ayre has voiced characters in dubbed Japanese anime series, among them Coud Van Giruet, the main character of Elemental Gelade, Shinichiro Isumi in Hikaru no Go, and Yuji Sakai during Shakugan no Shana's first season.
