Johnny Rey Diaz

Johnny Rey Diaz is an actor and filmmaker who began in film development before turning to performing. He was born in Mesa, Arizona, and while studying at Arizona State University's journalism school, where he earned his degree magna cum laude, he decided against a career as a television reporter and turned his attention to film and television. He moved to Los Angeles in 2012 for a film development internship with Panay Films at Disney Studios, doing script coverage, office work, and assisting a creative executive. He picked up background acting jobs on his days away from the office, and his interest in acting grew. When the internship finished, he committed to acting full time, appearing in commercials for Modelo and Corona and in a Beats by Dre Super Bowl spot with Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. He later moved into film and television roles and began to write, direct, and produce his own projects, occasionally working in production.
