Jason Yee

Jason Yee is an actor and producer who transitioned from an acclaimed career as a professional martial artist. He was born and raised in Boston by his single mom and grandparents. During his school years, Jason was bussed from the South End to Roxbury, where he was the only Asian in predominantly African American schools. Being a latchkey kid he grew up fast on the streets of Boston's inner city. His grandfather, an immigrant from Taishan, China and a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, realized that at age 6 Jason needed to learn self-defense. At first, Jason learned Kung-Fu from him, but after watching Bruce Lee movies with his uncle, Jason was inspired to take Kung-Fu to the next level and enrolled with Master Chan Poi and also began training under Master Yao Li.
