James Read

James Read is an American actor born in Buffalo, New York. After graduating from the University of Oregon in 1976, where he began acting while studying law, he trained in New York City and built stage experience in Off-Broadway and regional productions, including three seasons with leading roles at The Denver Center Theatre Company. He became known for his portrayal of George Hazard in the three North and South television miniseries and for a co-starring role in Beaches (1988). He appeared as a regular in the first season of Remington Steele and played Victor Bennett in a recurring role on Charmed from 2001 to 2006. His later television work includes Ken Davis on Wildfire, Franklin Fairchild on Persons Unknown, and Clyde Weston on Days of Our Lives starting in 2014. He directed an episode of Wildfire in 2008, played Abraham Lincoln in Better Angels in 2009, and began appearing as Gregory Chase on General Hospital in 2018.
