In 1974, Hunt played Trooper Norton, James Bellamy's batman, in an episode of Upstairs, Downstairs. Though the part was small, his performance convinced the producers to bring him back as a regular in 1975.
A change of course
In the 1980s, Hunt starred in Nescafé adverts with a trademark move: shaking his closed hand, opening it to reveal coffee beans, and smelling the aroma.
