Flavio Parenti
Biography
Flavio Parenti is an actor and director who was born in Paris and grew up between France and Italy. He graduated from Genoa's National Theatre Academy in 2002 and joined the theater's company as an actor and later a director, making his stage debut in Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage, for which he was also assistant director. Until 2005 he was an actor and stage director with the company while writing and directing his own plays. He first appeared on screen in 2008, co-starring in Silvio Muccino's Tell Me About Love (2008), and that year also acted in Sergio Rubini's At a Glance and Michele Soavi's The Losers' Blood, then played Eduard Einstein in Liliana Cavani's Einstein. He led three films at the 66th Venice International Film Festival, among them Luca Guadagnino's I Am Love (2009), which drew Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations. He also produces his own movies.
