Dave Madden
Biography
Dave Madden was a Canadian-born American actor who got his start as a comedian and magician before finding fame on television. Born in Sarnia, Ontario, he grew up in Michigan and Indiana, and after serving in the Air Force he earned a communications degree from the University of Miami in 1959. Nightclub work in Los Angeles led to appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show and his first acting job, on Camp Runamuck in 1965. He gained national attention on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In between 1968 and 1969, then became best known as Reuben Kincaid on The Partridge Family from 1970 to 1974. He appeared in the film Eat My Dust (1976) and had a recurring role as Earl Hicks on Alice, as well as guest spots on Bewitched, Happy Days and The Love Boat. He later voiced Bernard Walton on the radio drama Adventures in Odyssey from 1990 to 2008.

Big break
After Frank Sinatra recommended Madden to Ed Sullivan, he was signed for three nights on The Ed Sullivan Show. Those appearances brought his first real acting job, a spot on Camp Runamuck, in 1965.
Beyond film
Madden voiced several characters on the children's radio drama Adventures in Odyssey starting in the late 1980s. In 1990 he took on the regular role of Bernard Walton, a curmudgeonly window-washer he played until 2008.
Beyond film
Madden also did the narration for the opening title sequence of the FOX sitcom Herman's Head, and he did this during the show's first two seasons.
A change of course
Madden performed voice-over work for many commercials on television and radio. Among these were the Corlick Sister advertisements for Denny's, which ran from 1990 to 1993.
