Clint Kimbrough

Clint Kimbrough was an American actor who came to screen work through the New York stage. Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Allen, Oklahoma, he made his professional stage debut in 1953 in Charley's Aunt, then trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and joined Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio. That connection led to his first film, The Strange One, followed by A Face in the Crowd, and to a decade of work with the director Elia Kazan. He appeared on Broadway in an 11-month run of Our Town and spent the 1960s playing Shakespeare, Arthur Miller, Neil Simon, Eugene O'Neill and Tennessee Williams, while also working in live television on Westinghouse Studio One, U.S. Steel Hour and G.E. Theater. After moving to Hollywood, he took roles in Roger Corman productions, among them Bloody Mama (1970), Von Richthofen and Brown (1971) and Crazy Mama (1975), and he directed The Young Nurses.
