Bryan Marshall
Biography
Bryan Marshall was a British actor whose career covered film, television and theater in Britain and Australia. Born in Battersea, south London, he trained at RADA and graduated in 1963. After that he worked in repertory and at the Bristol Old Vic, and later toured as Captain von Trapp in the 1986 national tour of The Sound of Music. His best-remembered film role was Councillor Harris in The Long Good Friday. His other films included Alfie (1966), Rasputin the Mad Monk (1966), The Witches (1966), Mosquito Squadron (1969), Man in the Wilderness (1971), The Tamarind Seed (1974), BMX Bandits (1983), Bliss (1985), The Man from Snowy River II (1988) and The Punisher (1989). On television he had leading roles as Dobbin in Vanity Fair, Gilbert Markham in The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Wentworth in Persuasion, and he appeared in many series in Britain and Australia. In 1989 he was the original host for Australia's Most Wanted.
