Brigitte Nielsen
Biography
Brigitte Nielsen is a Danish actress, model and singer who was born in Rødovre and first worked as a model photographed by Greg Gorman and Helmut Newton. She began acting in the 1985 fantasy film Red Sonja and appeared in Rocky IV that same year, and she later appeared in Creed II (2018) as Ludmilla Drago. She starred in Cobra (1986) and took the role of a villain in Beverly Hills Cop II (1987). During the 1990s she took the role of the Black Witch in the Italian Fantaghirò television films. She provided voice work for Ronal the Barbarian (2011) and appeared in Mercenaries (2014). She also hosted television, including the 1992 Sanremo Music Festival and her own Gitte Talks, and took part in reality programs. She started a music career in 1987 with the album Every Body Tells a Story and published an autobiography in 2009.

About the name
Under the pseudonym Gitta, Nielsen put out a few songs since producers wanted to find out whether she could make it as a singer with her name hidden. Her first song, "No More Turning Back," hit the Top 10 in Spain.
A role that slipped away
Nielsen was cast as Jennifer Walters and She-Hulk in a planned film based on the character. She posed for photos as both before the project was canceled.
First role
Nielsen started acting in 1985. That year she appeared with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the fantasy film Red Sonja, which was the first acting role of her career.
Beyond film
In 1987 Nielsen launched a music career, putting out her first album, Every Body Tells a Story, that same year. She also sang a duet with Austrian pop star Falco, "Body Next to Body," which hit No. 6 in Austria.

In 1989 Nielsen was seen in the music video for Michael Jackson's "Liberian Girl," and in 2000 she turned up in Korn's video for their single "Make Me Bad."
Behind the camera
Nielsen's first autobiography came out in Scandinavia in 2009. It made Denmark's bestseller list's Top 5, and in 2011 it was published in the United Kingdom as You Only Get One Life.
