Brigid Bazlen

Brigid Bazlen was an American actress of film, television and the stage whose career began in childhood. She was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and was discovered at age six by an NBC executive, which led to a regular role on the soap opera Hawkins Falls. In 1958 she starred in the Chicago children's show The Blue Fairy, winning wide critical praise, and the program received a Peabody Award. After the NBC series Too Young to Go Steady, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer signed her. She played Salome in King of Kings (1961), a performance attacked by reviewers at the time but later regarded as her best, and appeared in The Honeymoon Machine (1961). Her final film was How the West Was Won (1962). She then performed on stage in Chicago until 1966, returned to acting in the early 1970s, and in 1972 played Mary Anderson on Days of Our Lives before retiring. She died in 1989.
