Bobby Naderi
Biography
Bobby Naderi is an actor who was born in Tehran in 1984 and arrived in Canada as a refugee. He turned to performing in his twenties, and an early break came when Nina Menkes cast him opposite Marina Shoif in Phantom Love. That opened the way to starring roles in The Taqwacores (2010) and Under the Shadow (2016), the latter earning three BIFAs and a BAFTA and serving as the UK's 2017 entry for the foreign language Oscar. On television he took recurring parts in Fear The Walking Dead and the fifth season of Prison Break, and he worked more than once with director David Ayer, appearing in Bright opposite Will Smith and in Deputy opposite Stephen Dorff. In 2020 he was cast in the second season of the Netflix series Black Summer.
