Andrew Levitas

Andrew Levitas is an American filmmaker and artist who was born in New York City and studied at the Dalton School and New York University, graduating from its Gallatin School in 2000. He has worked in film as a writer, director and producer, and his feature Minamata (2020), about the photojournalist W. Eugene Smith, premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and was picked up by MGM. He earlier wrote and directed Lullaby, a drama about patients' rights starring Amy Adams and Richard Jenkins. Among his producing credits are The White Crow, directed by Ralph Fiennes and written by David Hare, and Farming, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje's debut, which took the Michael Powell Award at Edinburgh in 2019. He also produced My Zoe and Georgetown. Alongside his film work he is a sculptor and painter whose metalwork photographic sculptures have been shown at museums and auction houses, and he created a comic book, Eternus, with Andy Serkis.
