Biography

Alfred Lutter III is an American engineer, entrepreneur, and consultant who began his career as a child actor. Born and raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey, he starred with Ellen Burstyn and Jodie Foster in Martin Scorsese's Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974). He returned as Tommy, Alice's son, in the pilot of the television spin-off Alice, though Philip McKeon took over once the series began. He played the young Boris in Love and Death, the brainy Alfred Ogilvie in The Bad News Bears (1976), and Phillip in the television movie The Cay. He also appeared in the first sequel, The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training (1977). He later earned engineering degrees at Stanford University and worked as a technology consultant and executive.
