S.W.A.T.: Firefight (2011) on Netflix

Plot summary

Paul Cutler, an ex-military Los Angeles police S.W.A.T. officer with ten years without a civilian casualty, is sent to Detroit to train its S.W.A.T. team on an updated F.B.I. Hostage Rescue Team curriculum. He imposes his authority at once and locks horns with the captain and with senior commander Justin Kellogg. A training exercise is cut short by an emergency call: Walter Hatch, a former government agent, is holding his girlfriend hostage. The girlfriend is rescued unharmed, but she grabs Hatch's pistol and asks Cutler to step aside so she can shoot Hatch. Cutler refuses and tries to calm her, and she turns the weapon on herself. The death breaks his record and weighs on him.
