Plot summary
The Bowen family buys a house that has just come on the market. It was built on an old cemetery, though the developer was supposed to have moved the human remains. Eric, Amy, Kendra, Griffin and Madison settle in. On the first night, eerie noises come from the walls, and Griffin finds a box of clown dolls left behind. In the middle of the night, lights and electronic devices switch on and off. Griffin finds Madison in the living room, speaking to the television static; she says someone is coming. The next evening the parents leave for dinner with friends, and the children are on their own. Kendra goes to investigate a sound in the laundry room. A lamp and a stuffed toy draw Madison into her closet, and she disappears.
