Plot summary
A nanotechnology experiment fails and blows up, and the particles it releases rise into the stratosphere, where they merge into a storm that destroys whatever lies beneath it. The company behind the experiment blames the explosion on Katherine Stern, a reporter who kept the only evidence of what happened there. With the authorities chasing her, she turns to Nathan McCain, a meteorologist, for help carrying that evidence to the government before the storms spread further.
