Plot summary
On Halloween night, a group of college students hire a farmer to carry them by hayride into a secluded part of the forest, where they settle in to drink and tell him to come back in the morning. Elsewhere in the woods, a farmhand pulls out a large tree stump with his tractor and finds a wooden box beneath it. The seal on the lid carries a warning not to open it. He breaks the seal, and the dead man inside rises, attacks him, and leaves him changed. The two figures move toward the students' gathering, and the driver who brought them out is caught on his way.
