Plot summary

Her memoir becomes a stage show, and in it she tells the story of her life and career for laughs. Her work on the Star Wars series comes into it, along with her parents, Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, and the problems with alcohol and drugs that have been widely reported. The memoir and the show share the title Wishful Drinking, and the stories are told by the memoir's author. The stage adaptation has its world premiere at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles in 2006, later plays at Berkeley Repertory, and opens at Studio 54 on Broadway in October.
