Angel of Christmas (2015) on Netflix

Plot summary

Susan Nicholas works on the copy desk at the New York Courier, where editor Yvette Collins has turned down every pitch she has made. Yvette offers one final chance: a holiday story for the Christmas Day edition, proposed within two days. Susan has avoided the holiday since Steve ended their relationship at Christmas two years ago. Her parents, Heather and David Nicholas, give her the family's wooden angel tree topper, carved by her great-grandfather Owen Thomas for an actress he loved, and family lore holds that it brings people together. The piece needs a conclusion, so Susan sets out to learn the ornament's history. That search puts her between Derek Hamilton, who works in advertising at the paper, and Brady Howe, the artist she keeps meeting.
