Plot summary
The realm runs on vitriol, the explosive substance found inside fire-breathing dragons, and Ahab's crew hunt the creatures from the Pequod, an armored land vessel. A harpooner named Ishmael joins them, bringing his friend Queequeg, and Ahab's adopted daughter Rachel runs the boat. Ahab was scarred and injured by a great white dragon decades ago, the same creature that killed his sister, and burns keep him out of the sunlight. Revenge on that one dragon is what he is really after, beyond the vitriol the crew hunts for. Ishmael and Rachel grow close, which draws hostility from Flask, another member of the crew.
