Plot summary

Monica is throwing a New Year's Eve party in Manhattan and is afraid that nobody will come, though Hillary arrives first. Lucy buys a carton of two hundred cigarettes for her best friend Kevin, who hates the holiday because it is also his birthday, and the two of them struggle with the attraction between them. Monica's cousin Val and Val's friend Stephie, from Ronkonkoma, get lost in Alphabet City and wander into a punk club, where Dave and Tom befriend them. Cindy, naive and awkward, has dinner with the paranoid Jack. Bridget and Caitlyn look for a way to ditch Eric, who dates Bridget and once dated Monica, and an eccentric cab driver in a disco-themed taxi ferries people around town.
