Plot summary
Nasr and Omnia are in love and married, though the wedding they could not pay for keeps the marriage a secret from everyone around them. Omnia is pregnant, which in their culture means scandal for an unmarried woman. Needing money quickly, Nasr goes back to the shady work of his past and agrees to carry a package of drugs for an associate he once knew. Omnia refuses to stay behind and rides with him. A bus strikes their car. The two wake in intensive care, in a hospital that seems to stand alone in the middle of nowhere, and they try to get out.
