Plot summary
This film is a satire of the women's liberation movement, staring a trio of female impersonators. Candy is an aloof heiress caught in an unhappy relationship with her brother. Jackie is a virginal intellectual who believes women are oppressed in contemporary American society. And Holly is a nymphomaniac who has come to loathe men, despite her attraction to them. Together, they join a militant feminist group, P.I.G. (Politically Involved Girls), but their newfound liberation doesn't make them any happier.

- Bob Colacello, former editor of Andy Warhol's Interview magazine, later suggested the film was shaped by the aftermath of Valerie Solanas's near-fatal shooting of Warhol in 1968, saying Women in Revolt is essentially Andy's revenge on Valerie and that PIGS was his answer to SCUM.
- The dialogue was not scripted. People often asked whether the films had a working script because the dialogue was so clever, but Paul Morrissey would give the actors a sentence and have them improvise on a topic while the camera was rolling.
- Jackie Curtis recalled a fight to keep a scene in: "My big scene was when I was painting my toenails, and Paul Morrissey wanted that scene out, but I wanted it, and Andy said, 'I want the scene in.'"
