Plot summary
An audition for a bluesical is the last chance Paula has for an acting career. Randolf and Donnie also perform at that audition. Backstage, Paula meets Max. Randolf falls in love with Louise, who is Paula's friend and does not want him. The five of them, Paula, Louise, Max, Randolf and Donnie, hold together through friendship and through their dream of a big success. Love and career prospects open up for the group, and their lives are thrown off track.
