Plot summary
Una Spencer lives with her mother and works a dead-end job, filling her nights with strangers at nightclubs. A photograph of a man she once knew sends her to the warehouse that Peter Trevelyan manages, where his shock at seeing her is plain. Fifteen years before, Peter was Ray Brooks, her next-door neighbor and a trusted friend of her father, who groomed her into a relationship that began when she was 13. The two planned to leave for Europe, and Ray went to prison after police brought her home. Married and settled under a new name, he wants the past left alone. Una has come for answers.
