Plot summary
Finbar McBride is a quiet man with dwarfism whose great enthusiasm is railroads. He works in a model train hobby shop in Hoboken, New Jersey, run by his elderly friend Henry, and he keeps to himself because the way strangers react to his size unsettles him. Henry dies, the shop closes, and the property Henry leaves him includes an old train depot in rural New Jersey, so Fin moves in there wanting to be alone. Joe Oramas is looking after the roadside snack truck his father normally runs, while the older man recovers from an illness. Olivia Harris is an artist whose young son died two years ago, and she and her husband David are separated. Cleo, a girl in the town, is another train enthusiast.
