The Lifeguard (2013) on Netflix

Plot summary

Leigh London is a journalist in New York City, involved with her boss, a man engaged to someone else. She is assigned a piece about a tiger cub that had been tied up as a pet until it died, and when the paper will not run it as serious news she argues with him and leaves the city without telling anyone at work. She goes back to her Connecticut hometown, where her mother questions the sudden visit and her father is glad, especially once she says she plans to stay. She looks up Todd, an art appraiser, and Mel, a vice principal, and takes the pool job she held in high school. There she meets Little Jason, the maintenance man's son, and his friend Matt.
