Plot summary
Arjang and Roya grew up together, and he has loved her since they were children. Social restrictions in 1980s Iran pushed Roya and her family to emigrate to the United States, and the marriage the two had hoped for did not happen. Over the following years their paths cross again more than once, and each time the chance to wed slips away. Arjang is now a wealthy man of fifty, unmarried and still fixed on Roya. He presses her to remain in Iran and to become his wife, and his insistence sits alongside memories of the friendship the pair shared when they were young.
