Plot summary
Collette is a member of the IRA living in Belfast. In 1993, when a bombing attempt in London fails, she is arrested, and the MI5 officer Mac, who becomes her handler, sets out her options: twenty-five years in prison, which would take her away from her young son, or work as an informer against her own family. She agrees, and Mac holds out a new identity once her work for him is done. At home in Belfast her mother and brothers are close at hand. As a child in 1973, during the Troubles in Northern Ireland, she lost a younger brother.
