Plot summary
Friends in Rome have kept the same circle for years. It began with two married couples, Antonio with Angelica and Roberto with Neval, along with Sergio and Davide, a successful author whose relationship with Sergio has ended. Davide's present partner is Lorenzo, and Lorenzo's friend Roberta is a newer arrival. Paolo, an aspiring writer who knows Lorenzo and Roberta, joins the group as well. Antonio and Angelica appear to be a perfect pair, yet their two young children are difficult, and Roberto feels he is an outsider since the group centers on Neval rather than on him. Paolo's entrance sets off competition and infidelity that put pressure on Davide and Lorenzo's relationship.
