Sylvia Soska
Biography
Sylvia Soska is a Canadian filmmaker who, with her twin sister Jen, forms the Soska Sisters, a writing, directing and producing duo known for visceral horror. Born in North Vancouver, she and Jen first pursued acting and extra work but disliked the twin roles they were offered, so they moved into horror. Their debut, Dead Hooker in a Trunk (2009), started as a film school final project they wrote and directed, and both appeared in it. American Mary (2012) earned the Special Jury Award at Fantastic Fest. Their work for WWE Studios includes See No Evil 2 and Vendetta. Their Rabid (2019) was a new version of David Cronenberg's 1977 film, which they wrote and directed together. Later projects include On the Edge and Festival of the Living Dead. They have also written comics for Marvel, including Black Widow.
