Egbert Jan Weeber

Egbert Jan Weeber is a Dutch actor who was born in Groningen in 1981 and spent four years training at the Theatre School in Groningen. He was 18 when he made his debut in Uitgesloten, a television production about a boy excluded from his Jehovah's Witness congregation. A Golden Calf nomination, the highest Dutch film award, followed for his role as Jonathan Stork. Supporting parts in theater productions, in television series including Finals (2000) and Baantjer (1995), and in small films such as Anderland (2003), directed by Arne Toonen, helped make him a leading young presence in Dutch cinema. He also appeared in Oysters at Nam Kee's (2002). The film Godforsaken! (2003) brought him his best reviews up to that point.
