Anne Haney

Biography

Anne Haney was an American character actress who took small supporting parts in about 50 film and television projects. Born in Memphis, she studied at Southwestern at Memphis and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She started acting in 1970, doing commercials and local stage productions in Atlanta, Jacksonville and Norfolk, Virginia. Her television work included guest roles on Cheers, The Golden Girls, ER and Ally McBeal, a stint as Alberta Meechum on Mama's Family, and Judge Marilyn Travelini on L.A. Law. Her best-known film roles were Greta in Liar Liar (1997), Mrs. Sellner in Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) and Mrs. Chapil in The American President (1995), and she also appeared in The Out-of-Towners (1999).
