Alani Ilongwe

Whether in television, film, theater, producing, writing or voice over acting, Alani iLongwe (f/k/a Carlton Byrd) continues to cement himself as one of the most dynamic talents of his generation. Known for breathing humanity and dignity into often misunderstood characters, his television credits include ABC's "Castle", TNT's "Major Crimes", CBS' "Blue Bloods" and NBC's "Law & Order". His vast theater credits include Matthew Lopez's "The Legend of Georgia McBride" (Ensemble Theatre Company), August Wilson's "Two Trains Running" (Seattle Repertory Company/Arena Stage) and Dominique Morisseau's "Sunset Baby" (TheatreWorks). As a voice over artist, Alani has worked on numerous campaigns including those for McDonalds, AT&T, Comcast, Kmart, and Verizon. He is best known for his award nominated work on Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series and recurring voice work for Nickelodeon's Loud House. Continuing to further his artistry, Alani has extended his talents into the field of directing. In 2017, he directed and executive produced "Meat Puppet: The Filmed Experience", a streamed theatrical production aimed at raising money for the philanthropic group, Unusual Suspects, which "mentors, educates, and enriches under served youth through the creation of collaborative, original theatre". Additionally, his immersive musical At the River I Stand (Executive Producer/Director/Book) was invited to the Johnny Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed, received a 29-hour workshop at TheatreWorks Hartford, and was invited to Apples and Oranges Arts' inaugural Theatre Accelerator before winning the Winter 2021 "Sing Tank Live!".
