Plot summary

Adam Cassidy is a low-level inventor at a corporation run by Nicholas Wyatt. Fired for insubordination, he treats his friends to bottle service at a club on a company credit card, and Wyatt and his enforcer, Miles Meachum, use the fraud to force him into corporate espionage. Adam's assignment is to spy on Wyatt's former mentor, Jock Goddard, a rival who took several of Wyatt's ideas. Judith Bolton trains Adam, and he gets inside Goddard's company, where he hands over software able to break into cellphones, a tool with military uses. There he meets Emma Jennings again, a woman from the party who is Goddard's director of marketing. FBI Agent Gamble questions Adam about employees who left Wyatt for Goddard.
