Plot summary
A mysterious package of LSD reaches Raymond Forrester, a professor of psychology at UCLA. He takes it with Dorothy Crowder, his student and a Hollywood starlet, at a Malibu hotel whose reputation is questionable. Few Americans have tried the drug before the two of them. The Central Intelligence Agency is meanwhile targeting fast living Los Angelenos through Operation Midnight Climax, part of MKUltra. The night is New Year's Eve 1960 in Los Angeles, and the professor, the starlet and the hotel's workers must find their way back to reality or stay caught in a cycle of sex, drugs and murder.
